HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR CRYSTALS, ROCKS & STONES
Your crystals, rocks, stones and minerals are beautifully fragile; meaning some will fade and deteriorate over time if exposed to the direct sunlight or harsh elements or too much handling.
Clear Quartz and many transparent and shiny crystals have been known to catch fire when exposed to direct, intense sunlight - so be careful where you choose to place your precious stones.
Many more porous, raw crystals and minerals should not be handled continuously over time as the human skin can excrete natural oils that can stain and damage more fragile crystals and minerals.
The best way to cleanse your crystal when you receive them into your life is either through water cleansing or smudging. This will remove any unwanted energy they may have been exposed to in the past. And once cleansed, you can begin charging your intentions.
Refer to the information next to the stone you are attached to in our collection and it will tell you if water cleansing is suitable.
Water Cleansing & Charging
Wash your stones under fresh running water, preferably in a river, lake, waterfall or natural water source if you are lucky enough to live nearby to one of these. Otherwise tap water is OK to cleanse your crystals, but due to the fact that many public water systems contain fluoride, it would be preferable to use filtered water.
Then lay your crystals outside, somewhere safe - preferably on the grass or earth. The ideal time to put your crystals out is just after sunset and for the best effect, on a full moon. Collect them the next morning when the sun has risen. Hold and charge your crystal with your intentions. Just keep in mind that water is not healthy for some crystals so do not use this method if stated on our website.
Smudging
If your stones are not suitable for water cleansing then smudging is a great way to cleanse them and charge them. To smudge them, pass your stone several times through the smoke of burning cedar, sage, sweetgrass, or incense.
Moonlight Cleansing
The moon is energetically clearing and cleansing, especially a full moon. Place your stones outside preferably on the grass or earth or in a window where they can soak up the moonlight.
Earth Cleansing
Burying crystals and stones in the earth is very cleansing and healing for them. Between 2 and 7 days is enough to get them cleansed and ready for charging - use your intuition. Just make sure to take note of where you buried them.
